Black Sabbath offshoot Heaven & Hell is set to release a comprehensive box set, 'Breaking Out Of Heaven 2007-2009', in March. This collection marks a significant chapter in the band's history, as it showcases their reunion with the iconic vocalist, Ronnie James Dio, and the subsequent release of their final studio album, 'The Devil You Know'. The box set will be available in both 4CD/Blu-Ray and 7LP formats, offering fans an immersive experience of the band's final chapter.
The 4CD/Blu-Ray edition includes an illustrated book with new liner notes by Hugh Gilmour, a replica tour book, and a poster. It features the complete 'Live From Radio City Music Hall' performance for the first time on vinyl, along with eight tracks making their vinyl debut. The Blu-ray expands the set with video from 'Live From Radio City Music Hall' and 'Neon Nights: 30 Years Of Heaven & Hell - Live At Wacken', plus band interviews. Additionally, an HD-upscaled video of 'Bible Black' is available today.
The set follows the band's reunion run, starting with their triumphant 2007 New York performance, 'Live From Radio City Music Hall', followed by the Top 10 studio album 'The Devil You Know' in 2009, and the live album 'Neon Nights: 30 Years Of Heaven & Hell - Live at Wacken', recorded later that year in Germany. The 7LP track listing is also provided, offering fans a choice of formats to enjoy the music.
Ronnie James Dio, a legendary vocalist in heavy metal history, joined Black Sabbath in 1980, recording the iconic albums 'Heaven And Hell' and 'Mob Rules', as well as 'Live Evil'. He left in 1982 but reunited with the group 10 years later for the album 'Dehumanizer'. In 2006, Dio, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Vinny Appice reunited as Heaven & Hell, releasing 'The Devil You Know' in 2009. Unfortunately, Dio passed away in 2010 due to stomach cancer.
The box set is a tribute to Dio's remarkable career and his impact on heavy metal music. It is a must-have for fans who want to relive the band's final chapter and celebrate the legacy of one of the greatest vocalists in music history.
